FTC at HMP Hull now running
Our new course commenced on the 21st September at HMP Hull and compliments the provision within the existing Resettlement Unit which includes Shelter, Jobcentre Plus and Age Concern for those aged 50+. There is also a team of Key-Support Workers who in some cases are able to provide through the gate support to FTC learners.
This programme is unique to FTC. It is being delivered alongside uniformed trainers with a ONE team approach. Incorporating our own VP units, it fatures two new modules e.g Starting and Keeping a New Job and Money Management. Additional elements include problem solving, considering other peoples views, rational thinking and social skills in the workplace, and assertiveness training. We are also providing slots for outside presenters focusing on self employment/sub-contracting, the D S A Arrive Alive team and the Princes Trust.
We hope to personalise the employment focus, starting with the choices made in Adult Directions and continuing through the application, CV and interview processes, we aim to tailor the programme to the needs of the learners.
