What Happens at the Centres

The function of both centres is to uphold FTC's mission objective of crime reduction by providing clients with the best possible training, support, advice and guidance, leading to opportunities for a purposeful and lawful future.

Multi skilled teams work in each centre to provide support, on an individual appointment basis, by setting up personal action plans, providing information and advice sessions, looking at referral opportunities and signposting to help clients achieve their resettlement goals.

Future developments

These include personal development workshops that will be held for small groups and centred on, Yoga, Music, Controlling Violence, and Breaking away from the culture of gangs. The latter was successfully trialled in the autumn of 2009 at Hackney in partnership with Khulisa, a charity from South Africa that has produced tremendous results in this field.

"FTC has stopped me going to all those places that would have got me into trouble; I don't have to go to those places now. I wake up in the morning and I've got a purpose somewhere to go.................Without the support of FTC I think I would have gone back to my old criminal lifestyle, I know for a fact it would of only been a matter of time before I went back to jail."
