From its earliest days, FTC appreciated that support for its clients should not end when the prisoner reaches the end of his or her custodial sentence. For resettlement to be most effective there needs to be on-going community-based support.
Founder of The Foundation Training Company, Mr Harry Quinton OBE, always held the view and built the ethos of the company around the principles of support post-release.
To bring his vision to reality Harry sought funding for the initiative and the support of like minded individuals and organisations that shared FTC’s ambition to put into practice realistic end to end intervention.
Together with FTC’s Resource Development Manager, Jacqui Rolando, who had conducted extensive research for the project, Harry took to the streets in East London and identified and acquired a prime site for the first Foundation Training Centre.
On 25th September 2006, FTC opened its first Training and Resource Centre in the London Borough of Hackney. Karen House, located at 1 – 11 Baches Street in Shoreditch, provides over 4000 square feet of space. Purpose designed and fitted out to our usual high standards, the centre provides a welcoming and motivating environment for FTC’s clients allowing them to focus on their personal and career goals.
